The Seenergi Group, a leading livestock consultancy, has commissioned BeTomorrow to develop ExploreApp, a white-label app dedicated to herd management. This solution, developed for Seenergi in partnership with the Chambers of Agriculture of Normandy and the Pays de la Loire, is distributed by Pilot’Élevage, a consortium of companies offering a comprehensive range of digital services for cattle, sheep and goat farms.
Developed in collaboration with livestock farmers to address the day-to-day challenges of their profession, ‘Mon Appli Pilot’Élevage’ enables them to manage the identification, breeding and health of their herds, as well as their dairy and beef production performance. The app simplifies regulatory procedures and the monitoring of health-related events, whilst centralising herd data, which is accessible at any time, including offline.
This approach, centred on real-world usage, has been recognised on several occasions. ExploreApp’s ‘Mon Appli Pilot’Élevage’ received the Jury’s Special Mention at the 2024 Product Awards. In 2025, Herdy, the intelligent assistant integrated into the app, was also honoured at the Innov’Space event at SPACE in Rennes. This recognition was repeated in 2026 with the award of a 2-star Innov’Space to Pilot’Élevage Vaccination, a module designed to simplify and secure the monitoring of vaccination protocols and schedules.

One of the key challenges of the Pilot’Elevage app redesign was modernizing the technical architecture while enhancing the user experience to meet the specific needs of cattle farmers. This overhaul addressed several strategic issues:
Data Synchronization Optimization: using a 100% Azure-hosted cloud architecture and monitoring tools like Sentry and Grafana, the app ensures efficient bidirectional synchronization for over 2.2 million animals across 11,000 farms. Various synchronization modes (synchronous, asynchronous, or differential) allow smooth and targeted updates, even offline.
Advanced Smartphone Capabilities: voice recognition through React Native Voice and multipoint photo scanning using a Machine Learning (ML) kit simplify complex tasks like animal identification. Additionally, Bluetooth (Classic, BLE, MFI) integration enables connectivity with devices such as sensors, scales, and other farming tools, enhancing its field utility.
Accessibility and Versatility: the app, compatible with both newer and older smartphones, ensures continuous access through offline functionality, critical for rural low-connectivity areas.
Security and Precise Access Control: secure authentication via OAuth 2 and Keycloak protects sensitive data, while granular access rights management allows specific permissions for administrators, farmers, or distributors based on their roles.
Redesigned User Experience: the UX/UI overhaul introduced modern, consistent interfaces with micro-interactions to simplify navigation. Features such as background synchronization and calving tracking make daily tasks more intuitive and less time-consuming.
To design the Pilot’Elevage app, our team applied the Scrum agile methodology, enabling us to effectively address end-user needs while remaining flexible in making adjustments.
Discovery Phase: the project began with a one-month discovery and needs assessment phase to establish a solid foundation.
Iterative Development and Beta Deployment: over six months, the team followed an iterative development process with regular deliveries, including a pilot deployment with 20 beta-testing herds. This phase involved continuous adjustments, particularly around the user interface and offline features, based on field feedback.
Progressive Scaling: after receiving positive feedback and making improvements, the app gradually scaled from 20 to 400 herds over a six-month period.
Mass Deployment: following these iterative improvements and tests, the app successfully expanded to over 20,000 herds.
Run Phase: the mobile app continues to evolve based on field feedback to provide even more value to farmers.
Our Product Design teams completely rethought the application to better meet farmers’ immediate needs. Centered around the question: “What does the farmer need at any given moment?”, numerous user tests were conducted to design an intuitive, relevant, and coherent app. Every element was redefined to balance emotional design, making the experience pleasant, with ergonomic considerations essential for a professional tool used in demanding conditions.
We ensured the interface remained simple and functional, avoiding graphical overload while working on a clear hierarchy to guide users effectively. The design system was custom-built, including icons and graphic elements created specifically for precise needs. These solutions were co-created with farmers, whose continuous feedback guided the entire process.

BeTomorrow created an app that’s incredibly smooth and intuitive, designed for real-world use and praised by our farmers. Their attention to UX/UI really made the difference. Thanks to their AI expertise, we launched Herdy — the first chatbot for cattle farmers. Everything was done in an agile, simple, and human way, built on mutual trust and true partnership. A great collective adventure, just as we envisioned for Pilot’Élevage.
